Purpose of a lip scrub or exfoliant is to scrub off the dead skin that just likes to attach to your lips. It makes apply any lip product unappealing because the dry lips look crusted and flaky. So I decided to add sugar, honey, and extra virgin olive oil. Sugar is used as the exfoliator, to help gently scrub off the dry skin. You can also use brown sugar or grounded coffee instead. Honey is a natural antioxidant and helps repair skin from sun damage, while helping the skin rejuvenate. Extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) is best because it has the most antioxidants compared to regular olive oil. EVOO helps repair skin being an antioxidant. It also adds moisture back to your lips and keep them smooth and healthy! It is important not to over exfoliate your lips because this can irritate your lips and cause your lips to be over-sensitive and cracked rather than smooth and moist. So do this once a week. You can do this twice a week if you space out the time! Don’t forget to apply lip balm. I use vaseline before bed because it’s the best thing to seal in moisture. Good luck!
